Vaughan, ON – May 1, 2024 – The annual Hike for Hospice Vaughan is set to return to Sonoma Heights Park on Sunday June 2, 2024, promising a day filled with compassion, camaraderie, and community spirit. This signature fundraising event, open to individuals of all ages and abilities, serves as an annual fundraising event for Hospice Vaughan, a vital asset serving this community.
Hike for Hospice Vaughan is also an opportunity for residents of Vaughan to join hands and hearts in solidarity with those facing life-limiting illnesses and their families. By participating in this event, individuals will make a tangible difference in the lives of others while fostering a sense of unity and compassion within the community.

The Hike for Hospice Vaughan offers something for everyone, whether you prefer a leisurely stroll through the scenic trails of Sonoma Heights Park or a more brisk walk to get the heart pumping. Participants can register individually or as part of a team, making it a perfect opportunity to gather friends, family, and colleagues for a meaningful cause.
One of the most poignant aspects of Hike for Hospice Vaughan is its role in providing solace and comfort to grieving families and friends. For many, this event serves as an outlet to celebrate the enduring legacy of their loved one while finding strength in the support of others who understand their journey. This celebration is signified during the hike when all participants hold hands around the Hospice Vaughan building in a “hug” formation.
“As this year’s Chair of Hike for Hospice, I walk in honour of my father, in honour of the hundreds of families that have been welcomed through the doors of Hospice Vaughan, and in honour of all of those still to pass through them. ” shared Alex Lombardi, Chair of the Hike for Hospice Vaughan.
In addition to the hike itself, the event will feature entertainment, food vendors, and activities for children, creating a festive atmosphere for family and friends to enjoy. Participants are encouraged to fundraise leading up to the event, with all proceeds directly benefiting Hospice Vaughan’s programs and services.
