Hospice Vaughan and its Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Marchese as our new Executive Director effective July 24th, 2017.
Belinda brings over 25 years of experience in not for profit, including 12 years in hospice. Belinda is a proven leader who is dedicated to volunteerism and diversity and is highly skilled in operations, management and partnerships. Most recently Belinda was the Director of Clinical Services at Hospice Toronto where she was responsible for clinical programs, reporting, budgets, operations and partner relations. In addition Belinda has participated in research-based work within palliative care, was involved in a Diversity project focused on compassionate communities, and enjoys developing innovative Palliative Programs that focus on quality end of life.
Belinda will be responsible for implementing policies established by the Board of Directors and will provide leadership, direction and guidance for all of Hospice Vaughan’s activities. Under Belinda’s direction, Hospice Vaughan will move into its next phase of ambitious capital expansion and integrated service delivery streams to deliver state-of-the-art palliative care and grief and bereavement services to its rapidly growing clientele.

Susan Paterino, Interim Executive Director expressed confidence in the Board’s choice. “I am happy to hand over this demanding yet very rewarding position to Belinda Marchese. Susan, originally a Hospice Vaughan volunteer and later a member of the Board of Directors, has served as Interim Executive Director for 15 months, and will be returning to her seat on the Board. “We are very thankful to Susan for her dedication, vision and leadership, through which she was able to guide the organization through changing times and elevate it to new heights. We are happy to welcome her back onto the Board of Directors where she can continue her passionate commitment to serve vulnerable community members going through their most difficult times.” – Maria Castro, President of the Board of Directors, Hospice Vaughan.
