Hospice Vaughan’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Stephanie Karapita as our new Executive Director of Hospice Vaughan.
Stephanie Karapita is a healthcare leader with over 25 years of leadership experience in the long-term, acute, sub-acute, and community care sectors. Stephanie was Chief Executive Officer at Casey House, 2006 to 2015, a specialty HIV/AIDS hospital with home care and outreach programs. Prior to that, she held leadership/planning roles at CCAC and various hospitals in Toronto. Stephanie currently serves as Executive Director at Westside Long Term Care, a 170-bed facility in north Etobicoke. Stephanie has an MBA from Dalhousie University.
Outside of the work environment, Stephanie loves hosting family and friends; her favourite past time is baking cakes. She also loves to travel and has done a road trip to all ten provinces.
Since 1995, Hospice Vaughan, a not-for-profit organization, has been providing compassionate support to individuals facing a life-limiting illness or the loss of a loved one. We offer community-based programs and services including Hospice at Home, Day Program, Wellness Program, Counselling, Education and Bereavement services and a new and expanded 10-bed residential hospice, the Mario and Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence.
