Vaughan, ON (January 10, 2020) – On Friday morning, Hospice Vaughan held its 2020 New Year’s Levee celebration. Local MPP’s along with municipal and federal officials, and Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) volunteer, Indira Monteiro, stopped by to officially congratulate Hospice Vaughan on receiving two OTF grants in 2019, which when combined come to a total of $147,400.

In the summer of 2019, Hospice Vaughan received a $75,000 Seed grant to conduct a feasibility study around the establishment of a hospice palliative community hub in Vaughan. The second OTF grant was a $72,400 Capital grant that was awarded in November to build a gazebo, buy technical equipment, new chairs and art supplies for its new, state-of-the-art residential facility which is scheduled to open in 2020.

“I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Hospice Vaughan on being awarded the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s highly-competitive Capital and Seed grants.  It is always great to see the amazing work that Hospice Vaughan does each and every day for our community. With these grants, Hospice Vaughan will bring a much-anticipated expansion to their programs and services, and will ensure that more individuals facing a life-limiting illness, and their families, have a chance to take part in their amazing programs. On behalf of the government of Ontario, I thank all of the staff at Hospice Vaughan for their incredible dedication to providing high-quality hospice care in the heart of our community. Congratulations!”
