FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – The annual Hospice Vaughan Gala was held virtually due to the pandemic. On Friday, October 15, 2021, The Living HeARTS Gala was a live-streamed event hosted by Co-Chairs Louie Chiaino and Romina Cortellucci.

The Gala featured a take-home element as guests had the opportunity to indulge in the ‘Curated Bites’ boxes that included a variety of sips & snacks in the comfort and safety of their own homes. All the items in these boxes were donated. The net revenues raised for this event were over $202,000 in support of Hospice Vaughan’s free-of-charge essential programs and services which are offered to the community. Since opening our doors earlier this year, our residence has been able to serve over 70 people, their families and many more community members.

A heartfelt thanks to the evening’s key sponsors; Pizzaville, Interior Systems Contractors Association (ISCA), and Metropolitan Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association (MPHCA). Hospice Vaughan also acknowledges Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua’s Spirit of Generosity. A special thanks to Masters Insurance for donating the wine and Pizzaville for donating gift cards. Thank you to all the evening’s sponsors.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed live streamed performances and art by Angelo Moretti, Victoria International Ballet Academy, Anthony Riccardi and Giuseppe Mandarino; virtually toured the new Hospice Vaughan, Mario & Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence; and had the opportunity to purchase 50/50 raffle tickets. There was also a live online auction, with proceeds directly supporting Hospice Vaughan’s programs and services. All the items in our online auction were generously donated by our community members.

“The support and generosity coming from our community for this virtual gala has been so inspiring,” said Louie Chiaino, President of The Board, Hospice Vaughan. “We can’t thank everyone enough for getting involved and giving Hospice Vaughan the opportunity to serve.”
