Through his personal experience with the loss of his wife Stephanie, Mr. Philip Lanni has become acutely aware of Vaughan’s need for a facility that will bring compassionate care to those with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. Mr. Lanni, a long time Vaughan resident and business owner, is a firm believer that everyone is entitled to a compassionate end-of-life experience with quality care in a warm and caring environment

The Lanni family’s generous donation was made in memory of Stephanie Lanni, continuing her legacy of promoting family wellness and community volunteerism. The donation will support the Day Program Room and the Children’s Room at the new 10-bed residential facility and Centre of Excellence for Palliative and Hospice Care, slated to open in 2019. “This donation will serve to honour Stephanie’s strong support for volunteer programs and engagement where it has the most impact. In my opinion, she would have been thrilled to see this kind of initiative within our community,” said Mr. Lanni.

“As the first official donation to our “Better Ending” Capital Campaign, this represents a historic milestone for us as it jumpstarts fundraising for the construction of the new Hospice Vaughan and our vision to transform hospice palliative care. We are so grateful to the Lanni family for this inspirational donation which will have a lasting impact on future generations of Vaughan residents and their families in need of compassionate care and support as they deal with life-limiting illness and loss,” – Maria Castro, President of the Board of Directors, Hospice Vaughan.

Hospice Vaughan is humbled and honoured by the Lanni family’s generosity and support, and we extend our sincere gratitude on behalf of the staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors.
