Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign donates $82,918.16 to HOSPICE VAUGHAN!

Restaurant owners from Vaughan, Woodbridge, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, and Maple are donating 100% of proceeds from sales of Smile Cookies to HOSPICE VAUGHAN this fall

VAUGHAN, OCTOBER 23, 2020 – This year, Tim Hortons restaurant owners and millions of generous Canadians across the country broke a new Smile Cookie record by raising $10.56 million for local charities across the country.
Local Tim Hortons restaurant owners throughout Vaughan, Woodbridge, Thornhill, Richmond Hill and Maple, along with their staff and customers raised $82,918.16 for Hospice Vaughan. For the last three years, 56 local restaurants have supported Hospice Vaughan through the Smile Cookie Campaign, raising a total of $240,000. These funds support the capital campaign going towards Hospice Vaughan – Mario and Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence set to open later this year.

Due to COVID-19, Hospice Vaughan’s programs and services have seen a 25% demand increase, and as Hospice Vaughan prepares to open the doors to its new 10-bed Hospice palliative care centre, the support of the community has never been more important.  Hospice Vaughan is grateful to Tim Hortons and to the community for their tremendous generosity throughout the Smile Cookie Campaign.

About Hospice Vaughan

Since 1995, Hospice Vaughan, a not-for-profit organization, has been providing compassionate support to individuals facing a life-limiting illness, their caregivers or those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We provide various programs and services that include in-home hospice care, a day program, counselling, wellness services and children’s support; and grief and bereavement supports.  Our services extend out to caregivers, family members and friends who need support through their loved one’s journey and through their grief.
