Hospice Vaughan and its Board of Directors are elated to have the support of the Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, as they proceed with plans to build a 10 bed Residential Hospice and Centre of Excellence. This residential hospice will serve as a hub for the delivery of hospice palliative care for the City of Vaughan.
Working together with key community partners to provide residential beds, bereavement, psychosocial and spiritual counseling, as well as day programs for families coping with life-limiting illness and loss, is a vision the Board, staff and volunteers are eager to make a reality.
“I am proud to serve as the Honorary Chair of this new committee that will work to bring a Residential Hospice and Centre of Excellence to our city. For 20 years, Hospice Vaughan has been committed to providing important services to people facing a life-ending illness and their loved ones. This new residential hospice will improve access to palliative care in our community as well as help ease the burden for many families in their time of need.”Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua
“As we embark on this journey, the continuous support from Hon. Mayor Bevilacqua is appreciated and a blessing. With the lack of palliative beds in Vaughan, access and delivery of quality hospice palliative care services is essential for our community.”Mary Grace Tatangelo
“Hospice Palliative Care is a core, foundational, and essential component of the overall healthcare system. The future Hospice Vaughan will be a truly comprehensive Centre of Excellence for the delivery of Hospice Palliative patient care, research, and education for the City of Vaughan and beyond.”Dr. Vincent Maida
