We are thrilled to announce that The Living HeARTS Gala will be a live online experience on
October 15, 2021, celebrating the arts community featuring the McMichael Art Gallery with all proceeds going to cover the vital programs and services of Hospice Vaughan.
Community programs include children’s grief support, caregiver support, adult bereavement programs, adult day program, in-home hospice care, psycho-social and spiritual counselling, health and wellness services and more. Our health care facility also includes a 10-bed hospice residence.
All our programs and services are offered free of charge through vital fundraising.
Louie Chiaino, a 20 year resident of Vaughan who currently manages his own real estate portfolio, is a long serving Hospice Vaughan volunteer, and is currently serving as Secretary, Board of Directors. Dynamic and creative, Louie has a passion for event planning, and also has a unique relationship with Italian coffee pots (Moka), where he claims to have the biggest collection of mokas outside of Italy! Louie’s dedication to Hospice Vaughan stems from the loss of his adored mother, who lovingly attended Hospice Vaughan’s Day Program. Louie’s community focused, and altruistic values make him an important member of the Hospice Vaughan community.
Romina Cortellucci works at Cortel Group and has seen first hand the importance of building sustainable communities supported by vital health care services. Romina’s optimistic and enthusiastic nature will encourage further youthful engagement and support of hospice palliative care needs. The invaluable contributions Hospice Vaughan makes to those most vulnerable and in need are an inspiration to all. With her strategic design eye, Romina looks forward to being a champion of their work and raising much needed funds for Hospice Vaughan. We know that Romina’s experience in amateur stand up comedy will certainly captivate and inspire the Vaughan community!

The Contardi family’s personal experience with navigating a life limiting illness allows them to recognize the positive impact a palliative care hub option would have been if it were available to them at the time. Hospice Vaughan provides the care, dignity and compassion for the individuals, families and caregivers in a time of need.
For the last 15 years, Angelo and Nella have been dedicated supporters of Hospice Vaughan’s children’s camps, day programs, signature hikes and galas. Their commitment to giving back and wishing to create a loving and caring community is at the core of their beliefs.
GALA FEATURING THE MCMICHAEL
Located on 100 acres of forested land along the Humber River, the McMichael is the only major museum in the country devoted exclusively to Canadian art. In addition to touring exhibitions, the McMichael houses a permanent collection that consists of more than 6,500 works by historic and present-day Canadian artists, including Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven and their contemporaries, Indigenous artists and artists from the many diasporic communities.
GALA ENTERTAINMENT & DONATED WORKS
Angelo Moretti is a Canadian-Italian tenor from Toronto, Ontario. Angelo’s versatile voice led him to many opportunities and successes at a young age; this includes winning the hit TV Show, “The Next Star: Supergroup.” Since then, he has developed a deep love for classical music. Angelo currently performs in Italian, German, and French as a classical tenor. He actively performs in opera productions at concert halls in Toronto, to outdoor ‘piazzas’ in Italy.
VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPANY
Victoria International Ballet Academy has been dedicated to providing the highest quality classical ballet and dance training since 2003. Raising the young generation of dancers and providing ballet education to students of all ages in our community of Vaughan, Ontario. They aim to unveil hidden talents, inspire self-confidence, discipline and respect through the teaching of classical ballet.
Anthony Ricciardi is a renowned multi-disciplinary artist from Toronto, Ontario that has travelled internationally showcasing his artwork and murals. His collections have been showcased globally in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Manchester, Montreal and Sao Paolo. He has curated large scale artwork and clothing for notable celebrities such as Demi Lovato, Bad Bunny, Post Malone, Shaq and many more.
Local Canadian artist, Giuseppe Mandarino has been passionate about putting paint to canvas since childhood. Experimenting with his artistic style by fusing a combination of textures, colours and mediums his creations are one of a kind pieces developed through emotions, surroundings and human connections. Giuseppe most recently presented an exhibition at Twist Gallery where he featured an ocean of colour, abstract and perpetuity showcasing his line of chromatics. His goal is to create work that channels feeling, movement and inspiration.
