[Vaughan, November 20th, 2023] – The month of February has long been associated with love and compassion, and on Friday, February 9th, 2024, Hospice Vaughan will host an unforgettable evening to celebrate the immense compassion that lies at the heart of hospice palliative care.  The 2024 Hearts Gala is presented by the Interior Finishing Systems Training Centre (IFSTC) whose constituents are ISCA (Interior Contractors Association of Ontario), Local 675, Local 1891, and AAO.  Supporting sponsors are Marel Contractors and P.J. Daly Contracting Ltd.

“On behalf of our constituents, IFSTC is thrilled to be the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Hearts Gala.  As a group, we believe deeply in the importance of giving back, especially to an organization like Hospice Vaughan, whose compassionate care has touched the lives of so many across Vaughan, including many of our own members.  We hope our leadership will encourage and inspire others to join us in supporting Hospice Vaughan.” Ron Johnson, Executive Director IFSTC

The 2024 Hearts Gala will honor Alexander Muzzo, a dedicated community advocate whose love and compassion were instrumental in shaping Hospice Vaughan as we know it today. In 2016, driven by a deep love for his community and the awareness of the critical need for compassionate end-of-life care, Alex brought together a community of philanthropists to dream big and raise the seed funding for Vaughan’s first and only residential hospice palliative care centre.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to pay tribute to our father, Alexander Muzzo at the 2024 Hospice Vaughan Gala.  My father believed passionately in the need for better end-of-life care and a place like Hospice Vaughan.  He would be thrilled to see the impact that Hospice Vaughan is having across the community today, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue to build on his great legacy.”  Michael Muzzo

Hospice Vaughan is more than just a building; it is a testament to the love and compassion that the entire Vaughan community shares for its residents. It serves as a home away from home, offering comfort and care to individuals and families who are navigating the challenging journey of end-of-life care. This hub for compassionate care provides access to a wide range of programs and services, including caregiver, grief, and bereavement support to all ages. All services and programs are offered for free to the community, allowing a family to just focus on being a family during a most difficult time.

This year’s gala has set an ambitious fundraising goal of $1,000,000, an amount that will allow Hospice Vaughan to continue offering all its programs and services free of charge. This will ensure comprehensive and compassionate hospice palliative care remains accessible to all Vaughan residents, regardless of their circumstances, whenever and wherever they may need it.

We invite you to join us for a beautiful evening at the Hospice Vaughan Hearts Gala, celebrating life, love, and the legacy of compassion that defines our community.
