Melissa Martelli Makes $125K Donation to Hospice Vaughan in Loving Memory of Her Husband Joe Martelli
In February 2014, just three weeks after the birth of their daughter, Melissa’s husband Joe was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. As the primary caregiver for her husband and their two children, Melissa tried her best to keep a positive attitude, but she was slowly unravelling. Feeling overwhelmed and scared, she realized that she could no longer do it alone. “That’s when I received a call from Hospice Vaughan, asking if I needed any help,” Melissa recalls.
Hospice Vaughan Launches “A Better Ending” Capital Campaign in support of Future 10-Bed Residential Hospice at Annual Gala
On October 20, 2017, over 1100 people attended Hospice Vaughan’s annual Giving Thanks Gala at the Terrace Banquet Centre. It was an evening of celebration and giving thanks with a fantastic dinner, a silent auction, a raffle, entertainment and dancing; and also served as the formal launch of Hospice Vaughan’s “A Better Ending” Capital Campaign in support of our new Hospice.

Hospice Vaughan Receives First Donation in Support of Future Centre of Excellence and 10-Bed Residential Hospice in Honour of the Late Stephanie Lanni
As the first official donation to our “Better Ending” Capital Campaign, this represents a historic milestone for Hospice Vaughan. We are so grateful to the Lanni family for their inspirational donation which will have a lasting impact on future generations of Vaughan residents and their families in need of compassionate care and support as they deal with life-limiting illness and loss.

John Fraser, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, was joined by Steven Del Duca, MPP for Vaughan, at Hospice Vaughan today to announce a new program to support the creation of new and expanded hospices across Ontario.
